Research thoroughly

Do a proper research before you take a decision! Research universities and their locations. Examine the teaching modules, explore opportunities, campus life and employment prospects before you make selection. For a wider perspective, you may also ask your friends and relatives or use Facebook or LinkedIn to reach out to the alumni of universities you are interested in along with details you want to know like fees, scholarships etc.If you find researching an exhausting process, come to us, our experienced counsellors can help you.

Discuss with one of our experienced counsellors

Once you’ve chosen your course, country and university, it’s time to apply now. Provide all relevant details on your academic and personal achievements in the application along with proof. Where ever English Language Requirements are insisted, take such tests, qualify with the required scores and submit proof along with your application Your SKV counsellor will forward the application to your university and coordinate with them for a speedy and successful admission process. Once your application reaches the university or school, they will assess it thoroughly and notify you of the verdict. It can take up to a few weeks for your application to be processed.Your Counsellor will leave no stones unturned for a successful and speedy admission at the same time follow the strictest legal and ethical standards.

Acceptance of Offer Letter

Once your application is successfully selected, you will receive a letter of offer and an acceptance form from the University. Before you accept the offer, go through it carefully with your counsellor to check for any conditions that may apply.You have to return a signed copy of the Offer letter and Acceptance form to the University along with the required fee.

Applying for Student visa

After accepting the letter of offer, the next most important task is to apply for your student visa. Since each country has its own set of formalities to fulfill, your SKV counsellor will guide you through the visa application process and help prepare the documents needed for your submission.

Some of the top most common documents you would require for your student visa. For a detailed document list as per your chosen country, discuss with your IDP counsellor.

Mandatory Documents

  • Copy of Letter of Offer and Admission Letter from your institution /university
  • Current valid Passport (Original)
  • Passport size photographs
Additional documents ( varies from Country to country)

  • Copy of the PAN Card (if needed)
  • Evidence of language certification (if needed)
  • Evidence of parental/guardian consent (if under 18)
  • Evidence of funding (your capacity to cover the cost involved in studying and sustaining abroad), if needed
  • Vaccination results (if required, it varies by the country)
⦁Arranging your Accommodation abroad

Next step is to arrange your accommodation abroad. Most of our Universities offer Hostel facilities. If not , you’ll have to figure out where to live when studying abroad. You can look for rooms on rent, homestay or find a local host. The cost will vary from city to city. If you opt to rent an apartment, you may have to pay the utility bills like electricity, internet, and water usage and also tenant’s insurance (in some cases) in addition to the rent Your SKV counsellor will guide you and assist you in arranging alternative accommodation in case you wish to stay outside the hostel.

Booking your flights in time

Next important step is to book your travel tickets. Your SKV counsellor will inform you about the date of journey. Ensure you book your flights well in advance for a better deal. While booking keep in mind, the requirements in the country of study and baggage allowances. Your SKV counsellor will send you the list of items you have to carry with you for your usage in the country of study.Your SKV counsellor will guide you and assist you in arranging your travel tickets at your cost in case you wish so

Taking Insurance Cover

Next step is to take the right insurances- Travel, Overseas Accident and Overseas Health Cover adequate enough to meet any type of misfortune or health related problems to meet such incidences. You can discuss with a good insurance agent or take our assistance. Your SKV counsellor can guide you in taking the right insurance for you.

Ready, set, go

Congratulations – you’re now ready for takeoff. Before you take the flight you may have to arrange some more preparations t o that your SKV counsellor may advise you to do .These include matters such as Foreign Exchange , SIM Cards , International Credit / Debit Cards, Opening Bank Accounts in a bank that has an overseas branch in the city of the university you had chosen etc. It is always advisable to learn about rules, weather, culture etc. of the country where you are going to study and adapting to to the new culture. SKV also host regular pre-departure sessions throughout the year to help prepare you for student life in your new country.
